About me: The storytelling aspect of these pictures is less important for me, than their formal qualities, such as colour, texture and structure of the pictorial space. The narration, which is at the heart of the traditional figurative approach, concerns me only as a hint of an attitude to the human condition.

Biography

Valery Koroshilov (b.1961) is an award-winning independent artist based in London and exhibiting internationally. Works primarily in figurative oil painting, and focuses on corporate and private commissions. In the last 15 years participated in more than 100 exhibitions worldwide.

His style originates from hyper-scale realism with a strong contemporary feel. Recent paintings earned the artist a reputation of a Contemporary Master ('Art In London' Magazine). Subjects range from Human Figure to Portrait, Homage to Old Masters, Still Life, and Decorative Composition.

Recent solo exhibitions include Standard Chartered Bank, London (2009) and Baker Tilly, London (2010).
